Unwork™. It’s Proven by Team Riders like Keegan Hosefros. Since the beginning we have defied tradition, creating products to perform in harsh, diverse environments. Worn by freethinking, dynamic humans – like snowboarder Keegan Hosefros. When we launched our Unwork™ category the goal was to put the 686 spin on traditional workwear and give it comfort and breathability to match the durability. Keegan was a prime candidate for heavy testing. During the winter, he is chasing epic snow conditions full time to film a video part. That leaves five months of the year to lounge around Lake Tahoe and work a “real” job to help bankroll the snow chasing. Those long summer days also give free time to catch up with friends and family, jump in the lake, and ride his skateboard.

Keegan spends the bulk of the hot months working as a framer with a tight crew of builders that isn’t dissimilar to a backcountry film crew. Mornings start very early with coffee, donuts, and jokes, and the laughing doesn’t stop until the tools are put away at the end of the day. Keegan – being the young buck in the squad – is often on the receiving end of many of these jokes but he takes it in stride and uses the opportunity to absorb the experience of the more seasoned framers. It’s all about continued growth and always building your knowledge base. Just like it is in the backcountry.

We love traditional workwear; however, it tends to run on linear lines or fits safely into boxes. We agree on the sacred foundations like durability and utility, and salute those who shape our world with daily labor. But as workers—and humans—we need more. That’s why when workers like Keegan get off the jobsite and grab their skateboard or their paintbrush or their bike or their… you get the idea, there is no need to change out of their Unwork™ pants. When you pursue your passions hard, you need that durability, but also movement and breathability.

During our day with Keegan he took us on his usual post-work tour that included a mountain bike ride to the Truckee skatepark, a heated session on the concrete (during which he shattered the Filmer’s fisheye on a frontside 5-0, whoops!), then a dip in the river to cool off before some sushi, and then capped the day off with some beers and catching up with friends at a concert in the park. It’s exhausting just reading all that, but that’s what the off-season is all about. That’s what Unwork™ is all about.
